Lane reductions will increase traffic on the Bloomfield Boulevard bridge when a rehabilitation externalize begins nowadays, Oct. 19.

At an Oct. 16 unrestricted meeting, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials detailed the plans to replace portions of the bridge, which testament remain open, but with lane closures, during construction.

The bridge circuit connects Bay Street and Montclair Branch New Jersey Transit train stations areas. Built in 1911, the four-lane bridge accommodates much 27,000 vehicles a day in its east and west bound directions between Montclair and Glen Ridge.

The project will be cooked in four stages.

"This is a major corridor, so we give the axe't really close down the bridge circuit all during construction.
